Volunteering with Dogs and Cats

Volunteering with Dogs in AustinPALS (Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors) provides support for older adults and other homebound Central Texans who have pets. Pets provide essential companionship to our neighbors who are homebound.

Here’s how you can volunteer with PALS:

  • Deliver monthly pet food and supplies every Second Saturday of the month

  • Make a one-time pet food and pet supply delivery on a Second Saturday

  • Transport pets to veterinary or grooming appointments (typically M-F)

  • Temporarily foster a neighbor’s pet (for neighbors in extended medical stay)

  • Donate needed PALS items (see list below)

  • Start a donation drive

We regularly accept the following items for donation: canned or dry food for cats/dogs, cat litter, new or gently used litter boxes, pee pads, leashes, toys, and scratching posts, and gift cards to stores selling pet supplies
